New Quality Workshop

Shainin Technique Quality Workshop
with Advanced Problem Solving

A need for improving problem solving and structured processes for data collection has led to the development of this new workshop and training program that combines Shainin tools, advanced problem solving, data collection tools, and process control steps to help Lean practitioners take six Sigma techniques to the next level of implementation.

This workshop focuses on the objectives:

  • Problem Solving using the Logic Axiom and Comparative Analysis
  • Multi-Variate Analysis to categorize problems into time based, between part, or within part root-cause
  • Component Search and Variable Search Simplified Design of Experiments
  • Shainin Six-Pack Technique and Applications
  • Process Pre-Control Technique and Applications

Starting with data collection, we help participants collect real-time data for their own process. Workshop participants learn how to do multi-variate analysis and organize these inputs into groupings that assist in the problem solving process. Next, participants will learn Shainin Design of Experiments tools to analyze most probable causes; and, finally, how to create pre-control charts to set new process control limits.

During a recent workshop with shop floor supervision and quality personnel, a team attacked a major field failure of a critical cast component. The team took on the challenge to solve true cause for the failures. In two days, the team identified the failure mode, structured the data collection, and found the root cause. The defective parts were quickly quarantined, avoiding a potential recall. The cost would have been $600,000 to swap out the part in a massive field refit!
